Description

QV Cream is suitable for very dry skin and sensitive skin. It is optimal for skin areas that need additional hydration such as knees, elbows and hands. QV Cream is part of the range of QV skincare products that are suitable for people with psoriasis, and is applicable for infants and the elderly.

Apply QV Cream for added hydration and moisturisation for a full 24 hours. It provides a protective barrier around the skin that seals in the body’s natural moisture. Additionally, it helps replenish the skin and repair dry skin areas. Apply QV Cream in case of psoriasis as a topical preparation when the skin has improved to reduce the severity and number of future flare-ups.

QV contains Squalene, which is a natural element found in the skin oil. The cream is developed with a low-irritant formulation free from SLS, fragrance, lanolin, colour and propylene glycol.

Research & Evidence

For people with Psoriasis

HelloSkin’s experts were unable to find scientific data on the benefits of QV Cream on psoriatic lesions. But, the cream contains glycerin, which occurs naturally in the skin, where it helps attract and retain water from the deeper skin layers, thereby hydrating and thus moisturising the skin (1). A decrease in the water content of the upper layer of the skin is found in many dry skin conditions, including psoriasis, and is linked to a reduced function of the skin barrier (2), which is believed to contribute to the inflammation and aggravate the disease (3).

Also, QV Cream contains petrolatum and paraffinum liquidum, known to help prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. Water evaporation is increased in psoriatic lesions compared with normal skin (4).

For people with Eczema

HelloSkin’s experts were unable to find scientific data on the benefits of QV Cream in atopic dermatitis. However, the products contains glycerin which occurs naturally in the skin where it helps attract and retain water from the deeper skin layers thereby hydrating and thus moisturising the skin (1). A decrease in the water content of the upper layer of the skin is found in many dry skin conditions, including atopic dermatitis, and is linked to a reduced function of the skin barrier (2) that may further worsen the disease. The product also contains petrolatum and liquid paraffin, known to help prevent water evaporating from the skin surface.
