Description

Flexitol Moisturising Foot Cream comprises beneficial ingredients like lactic acid and 10% urea that work as skin hydraters, moisturisers, and conditioners. It also contains vitamin E with antioxidant properties that work well for the skin.

Urea is an element naturally found in human bodies that increases the water uptake from lower layers of the skin. It works by reducing water loss and improving the quantity of water that the skin can hold. People with dry skin generally lack this element in their skin. Products with this ingredient can replicate the process of skin hydration.

The highly concentrated formulation softens and rehydrates very dry skin. The cream is gentle and is quickly absorped by the skin, which makes it convenient for use on very dry feet and legs.

Flexitol Moisturising Foot Cream maintains smooth and nourished skin that helps to rebuild its natural feel. It can be used as part of your daily routine to keep legs and feet hydrated and soft.

Research & Evidence

For people with Psoriasis

The HelloSkin experts were unable to find scientific data on the use of Flexitol Moisturising Foot Cream in humans with psoriasis.

However, the cream contains urea and lactic acid, both known to attract and retain water in the upper skin layer. Urea may possibly also help the skin maintaining a functional barrier (1).

In psoriasis and other dry skin conditions water loss from the upper skin layer causes a reduced function of the skin barrier, which may be worsening the symptoms of the disease (2).

Lactic acid is a natural component in the upper skin layer that helps to keep this part of the skin hydrated, which has showed to be decreased in psoriatic lesions (3). In psoriatic lesions the water loss across the skin is increased compared with in healthy skin (4).

The product also contains lanolin, which is a waxy substance obtained from the wool of sheep and sometimes called wool fat. In a study, pure lanolin applied two times daily for 4 weeks was shown useful in treating moderate to severe foot dryness (5). It is important to notice that lanolin can cause contact allergy.
