Description

E45 Derma Protect Intense Recovery 24H Spray Moisturiser is formulated for very dry skin and provides protection and relief for sufferers of eczema and other dry skin conditions.

It produces similar results to other products in the E45 range, but has the advantage over creams, lotions, and oils in that it comes in a convenient spray canister, meaning that it is easy to apply wherever you are.

The moisturising effect of the spray lies in its liquid paraffin content (which distinguishes it from its sister spray, the E45 Derma Protect Fast-Acting 24H Spray Moisturiser). This helps to restore the skin’s natural protective barrier and reduce evaporation. It locks in moisture, rehydrates the skin, and helps it become smoother, softer, and suppler.

This spray is fast-acting and easily absorbed by the skin. It contains no artificial fragrances and has a non-greasy formula. Used daily on very dry skin, it will provide moisturising action for up to 24 hours.

Research & Evidence

For people with Psoriasis

HelloSkin’s experts were not able to find clinical data on the use of E45 Intense Recovery Fast Acting 24H Spray Moisturiser in people with psoriasis. However, glycerin, which is in this product, is found naturally in the skin where it helps attract and retain water from the deeper skin layers, thereby helping hydrating and moisturising the skin (1).

In dry skin conditions, including psoriasis, water loss from the upper skin layer is linked to a reduced skin barrier function, which may be worsening the disease symptoms (2).

For people with Eczema

HelloSkin’s experts were unable to find clinical data on the use of E45 Intense Recovery Fast Acting 24H Spray Moisturiser in people with atopic eczema. However, the product contains glycerin which is found naturally and works partly by attracting and binding water in the skin (1).

In dry skin conditions, including eczema, water loss from the upper skin layer is linked to a reduced skin barrier function, which can aggravate disease symptoms (2).

In patients with atopic dermatitis, a glycerin-containing cream compared with a glycerin free placebo was able to hydrate stratum corneum and restore epidermal barrier function during the treatment, when treated twice daily for 4 weeks (3).
