Danish company, Australian Bodycare, produces a range of products using natural ingredients from the Australian outback to bring relief to a range of skin conditions.
Australian Bodycare Body Balm combines tea tree oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia) with Tasmanian pepper in a balm that is designed to moisturise the skin after shaving. It is similar to the face balm from the same range.
As well as preventing the skin from drying out, it also helps prevent ingrown hairs and red spots that can result after shaving body hair.
The pure tea tree oil it contains is included in all Australian Bodycare products, due to its antibacterial and soothing properties. It has been used in a variety of skin care products ever since the tea tree was first discovered growing in its native Australia.
Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of this tree. It has been used in many topical creams and ointments down the years – notably for skin damaged by cuts, burns, insect bites, etc. It has also been used in anti-fungal treatments for athlete’s foot, fungal nail, etc.
As an ingredient in skin care products, you will find tea tree oil in cleansers, face and body washes, hair/scalp care products, and others. The oil helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria and soothe skin.
In Australian Bodycare Body Balm, the oil is combined with Tasmanian pepper extract and allantoin. Together, these ingredients help to soothe and prevent irritation of damaged skin.
Importantly for people with sensitive skin, this balm steers clear of many of the common irritants found in other after-shaves, lotions, and skin care products. It contains no artificial colorants, parabens, SLS, or artificial fragrances, which can dry out or irritate sensitive skin.
After shaving, the skin may feel softer and fresher as a result of applying this balm.
The Australian Bodycare Body Balm ingredients are:
PEG-7 Glyceryl cocoate
C12-13 Alkyl lactate
Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil (1%)
Tasmannia lanceolata fruit extract
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl acrylate crosspolymer
Apply Australian Bodycare Body Balm to clean skin, directly after shaving.
Massage the balm into the skin. The distinctive tea tree oil fragrance will soon fade, but the balm will continue to work afterwards.
Keep Australian Bodycare Body Balm away from the sight and reach of children. It is for external use and contact with the eyes should be avoided.
In the case of hypersensitivity to tea tree oil or any other ingredient, do not use this balm. If there is a persistent unwanted skin reaction after you stop using it, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
No side effects of using Australian Bodycare Body Balm are currently known.
